The University of Barcelona School of Economics is pleased to host the 46th Simposio de la Asociación Española de Economía-Spanish Economic Association (SAEe), to be held in Barcelona, Spain, on 16-18 December, 2021.

The main goal of the Spanish Economic Association is the promotion and dissemination of scientific knowledge in economics through the organization of conferences, publications, and any other activity that may further that aim. The Simposio brings together experts in all areas of economics every year in December.

Plenary Lectures will be given by Juan José Dolado (Universidad Carlos III de Madrid), Gabriel Pérez-Quirós (Banco de España and European Central Bank) and Mar Reguant (Northwestern University). Luisa Fuster (Universidad Carlos III de Madrid) will deliver the Presidential Address.

Together with the Regular Sessions, SAEe also provides a vibrant venue for PhD students to present their work by including PhD. Student Sessions.

Fundación Ramón Areces and the Spanish Economic Association will award 75 fellowships for Ph.D students who are presenting a paper at SAEe. All papers submitted for Ph.D Student Sessions will be automatically considered for these fellowships, and the selection will be done by the Scientific Committee, based only on scientific quality. The fellowships will cover the conference registration fees for the selected candidates.

The Spanish Economic Association also organizes the second SAEe PhD School to take place on Wednesday,  December 15th at the University of Barcelona School of Economics.
